Licence conditions for pollution studies and reduction programs

Summary

Licence number: 828
Title: PRS 51 - Effluent Characterisation Study
Start date: 15 Aug 2021

Licence Condition
Background The Licensee proposed to undertake a screening review of effluent quality against the Default Guideline Values - 95% Marine (ANZG 2018) for analytes not currently  required to be sampled under the Licence.  The EPA agrees this study will be useful and for completeness has extended the study to require an assessment of analytes currently required to be monitored under this licence, as well as selected other analytes.
The Licensee must conduct a study and provide to the EPA by 1 September 2022 an Effluent Characterisation Report. The Effluent Characterisation Study must assess the quality of the effluent by reviewing data for analytes currently sampled under the Licence as well as data for selected analytes not currently required to be sampled by the Licence.  The Report must contain: the results of the sampling; an assessment of the significance of results in comparison to the Default Guideline Values - 95% Marine (ANZG 2018); and a proposal for further actions, if required, as a result of analysis and assessment.  If further actions are required also include a date when such actions will be completed. The Effluent Characterisation Report must be provided to the EPA at RegOps.MetroRegulation@epa.nsw.gov.au
